ENCE bring the paiN
In a grueling gauntlet filled with some of the best teams in the world, paiN is looking wreak havoc in their opening match of the IEM Katowice play-in as they took on the European mix in ENCE. The Brazilians really shouldn't even be at IEM Katowice, but thanks to a miracle run of participating in North American Cash Cups, they earned one of the last berths in the event thanks to the ESL World Ranking at the expense of Astralis.
paiN started off the game with a monumental pistol round win, giving them three rounds to separate themselves from ENCE. Despite jumping out to a 3-0 lead, paiN simply could not hold onto their lead and would quickly fall behind as ENCE were able to build up a solid economy from consistent bomb plants. The first half would end well in ENCE's favor at 11-4, spelling trouble for the South Americans.
As the Brazilians moved to the T-side, they would once again overpower the Europeans and succeed in winning their second pistol of the match. paiN would once again win the first three rounds of the half, but like the first half before them, they would not be able to stop the unbeatable force that was ENCE as they dominated the Brazilians in the full buy rounds. paiN would go down 16-7, despite winning both pistols in the match.
paiN will now be sent to the lower bracket where they will have to play IHC tomorrow at 01:30PM.
