Liquid alumnus returns to server after five years
After more than five years away from competition, Danish Liquid alumni and professional analyst, Jacob "Pimp" Winneche, is set to pick up the mouse again. The 27-year-old is set to play with a squad of Danish youngsters on XI Esportal in the second division of our sister website, Dust2.dk's domestic Power Liagen.
Many newcomers to the scene may not remember, but Pimp was a well-regarded player in the first five years of CS:GO, playing for Dignitas and SK before making the jump to Liquid in mid-2016 to replace Eric "adreN" Hoag after ELEAGUE Season 1. Pimp's time with Liquid was fairly poor as the team were still finding their footing in a post-Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev world, leading to the player leaving the squad due to a mismatch between Pimp's "personal expectations and goals" compared to the rest of the team. Pimp's departure from Liquid led to the acquisition of Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken from Misfits, setting Liquid on the road to eventual greatness in 2019.
It will be interesting to see Pimp playing again in general and with a largely unknown squad of Danish newcomers. Pimp has become increasingly involved in the Danish scene over the years, working with Denmark's CS:GO broadcaster TV2.dk alongside former Astralis starlet Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen.
