Cloud9 parts ways with kioShiMa
Cloud9 have announced the departure of Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey from the team's active roster, releasing the French player from his contract following a five-month long stint with the organization.
The news of kioShiMa's release follows a report by Jarek "DeKay" Lewis, citing that Cloud9 are in talks with René "cajunb" Borg, who was benched on OpTic earlier in the week. With cajunb's contract with OpTic expiring on April 1st, the player would not need to be bought out and would be available for immediate transfer, although Cloud9 would be forced to use one of their two ESL Pro League roster adds to bring cajunb on board.
With kioShiMa's departure, Cloud9 are left with just two of the five players who participated in the IEM Katowice Major as they have already parted ways with Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro. A currently indefinite hiatus for Robin "flusha" Ronnquist leaves the organization's Major slot in question as Will "RUSH" Wierzba and Timothy "autimatic" Ta are now the only players that remain on the roster from Katowice.
With kioShiMa being released, Cloud9 are left with:
- Timothy "autimatic" Ta
- William "RUSH" Wierzba
- Maikil "Golden" Selim
- Daniel "vice" Kim (Trial)
- Ronald "Rambo" Kim (Coach)
Cloud9 will have to finalize their roster post-haste, as they are set to attend BLAST Pro Series Miami from April 12-13.
