Report: Cloud9 in talks with cajunb
According to a report by Jarek "DeKay" Lewis, The Cloud9 organization are currently in talks with recently benched Danish player René "cajunb" Borg. This report follows previous reports that Cloud9 had previously tried to acquire the services of cajunb's OpTic colleagues Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke and Jakob "JUGi" Hansen.
In the end however, Cloud9 ended up signing former Rogue player Daniel "vice" Kim on a trial contract. vice was signed by Cloud9 while the Rogue organization was considering exiting CS:GO as their own Danish duo, Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen and Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen, was targeted by OpTic.
In the report DeKay does not specify which player cajunb would be replacing if he were to pen a contract with Cloud9. However, he notes that if Cloud9 wish to retain their Major spot and not have to requalify through the notoriously brutal European Minor, Golden and vice are the only options.
Another factor to consider is that as the EPL pre-season transfer deadline has passed, Cloud9 will have to use one of their roster adds for the season if they wish to sign cajunb.
For now, Cloud9's lineup looks as follows:
- Timothy "autimatic" Ta
- William "RUSH" Wierzba
- Maikil "Golden" Selim
- Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey
- Daniel "vice" Kim (Trial)
- Ronald "Rambo" Kim (Coach)
Cloud9 will have quickly decide the future of their roster as they are set to attend BLAST Pro Series: Miami in less than two weeks. Luckily for Cloud9 if they do opt to acquire cajunb they will not have to pay a buyout to OpTic as the player's contract expires on Monday.
