Not even a case of mumps could keep TACO from winning the third place decider

SK defeat VP in Mykonos; secure invite to next ESG Tour event

SK emerged as the ultimate victors after three lopsided maps.

Championship Sunday in Mykonos saw two teams, in the form of SK and Virtus.pro, who are not used to playing third place deciders doing exactly that. Because of the format of the ESG Tour, this match was for more than just prize money and placing - it secured an  invite to the next ESG Tour event (Grand finalists mousesports and Liquid will of course already be returning).

The first map in the series was Train, and it looked like it would go down to the wire after the first half ended 8-7 in favor of the Poles. However, upon switching to their own Terrorist side, SK and Fallen were indeed terrors, as they allowed  Virtus.pro only a singular round, compared to the nine of their own that closed out the map.

Cobblestone began in the same way as Train did, with Virtus.pro once again leading a competitive match at the half. This time around, they did not lose their momentum, and easily put SK away after the side switch. Paweł "byali" Bieliński topped the scoreboard for the Polish side, and personally helped finish off the Brazilians with a triple kill to finish the map.

The final battleground of the set was Inferno, where SK got off to a running start a never looked back. On their opening Counter-Terrorist side, they rattled off 11 straight rounds before Virtus.pro retorted with one of their own. The half ended 12-3 in SK's favor, and they showed none of Virtus.pro's inability to maintain momentum between halves. In the most one-sided map of the series, SK put away VP for good with a final score of 16-6.
