Fisher College replace tatm with Icelandic import

Fisher College now boasts a European supermajority with their most recent addition.

Fisher College IGL Alexander "AlekS" Andersson has confirmed to Dust2.us that the team have replaced Matthew "tatm" Munro with Þorsteinn "TH0R" Friðfinnsson, seeing the Icelandic prospect the college recruited in early February join the team ahead of his arrival in the United States for the fall semester. The move leaves Tommy "corn" Eckhart as the sole remaining American on the collegiate squad as Fisher have invested heavily in attracting European talent to the private university over the past two years.

The decision to replace tatm follows the squad 9th-12th finish in ESEA Advanced Season 52, with the squad finishing in 9th-12th after losses to anything else and regain. Meanwhile, over in the collegiate space Fisher have continued to dominate, with the team boasting a 6-0 record in their group in the NECC regular season.

TH0R joins Fisher after establishing himself as one of the best players from his small country, helping various organizations over the years dominate the Icelandic Esports League over the years.

As previously mentioned, with TH0R not set to arrive in America for a number of months, he is expected to play upcoming events from Iceland, including the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #1, which the team qualified for last week.

Dust2.us reached out to AlekS and tatm for comment on the move but did not hear back ahead of publication.

Update: Following publication, tatm responded to Dust2.us to confirm he is out of the state, claiming that the team cut him one day without warning and that moving forward he would only be be playing NECC matches for the team while TH0R would be playing all other events with the squad.

Update 2: Following publication, Fisher's Assistant Director of Esports Aaron Colaiacomo also responded to Dust2.us to say that the team cut tatm due to the player graduating soon, thinking it would be beneficial long-term to starting bedding in TH0R ahead of his freshman year of college.
