Peeping on second Nouns proposal: "The 40 votes we lost was mainly due to the Nouncil"
It's been a turbulent start to the 2025 season for the Nouns Esports roster. The team has been trying, and so far failing, to get their budget approved by the Nouns DAO, and one of their new additions has taken a step back from competing due to personal reasons.
Still, the roster is looking ahead to a likely invite to the North American Regional Qualifier for the BLAST.TV Austin Major. But while at Fragadelphia x Block 2025, Dust2.us' Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore ran into another new Nouns addition, Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell, for a few words.
The full interview can be found below on YouTube, with key snippets underneath.
What did you make of snav’s move to BOSS and eventually BLUEJAYS? He’s somebody you’ve worked with for a long time who in way brought you up in this scene. What do you think about him taking this next step?
I think it’s a good step away from the timbermen name. It’s unfortunate to see him depart from dare and shane, who were in the timbermen core; they’re all super good teammates and I love playing with all of them, they’re all great players. But I’m excited for snav to move on to bigger and better things.
Unfortunately we saw the second Nouns proposal just fail. Were you surprised that it failed, or were you prepared for it?
We weren’t really surprised but we weren’t not surprised. The feedback was a lot better on this proposal, and honestly we hope to re-write the proposal in a way that will make us more favorable to the Nouncil. We got a lot more positive feedback, but the 40 votes we lost was mainly due to the Nouncil. But we’re trying to better ourselves and better the brand. We’re still going to represent them and show our support towards Nouns.
Is it frustrating to have to do more to appease Nouns, compared to what’s usually asked of a roster playing for an organization?
It’s definitely frustrating. Each person is their own person, and we may please one person and the other person may not like how it is. Before, we [just] load into the game, we play the game, we do our job, we practice. But now we have to make more of a connection with these people, we have to talk with these people, build bonds. It’s a different approach, and [there’s] a learning curve.”
We recently saw Infinite step down due to personal reasons, right around when the proposal failed, and you’ve been spotted using CLASIA. Is he someone you’re looking to bring in permanently?
Most definitely. He’s a really good player, and he’s had his attitude issues in the past, but he’s been nothing but a great teammate. I don’t even see how he had attitude issues in the past honestly, he’s been nothing but great. I haven’t even heard him raise his voice once. It’s been so much fun playing with him.
