friberg blasts CS2 anti-cheat: "Every other game we played vs cheaters"

friberg has joined a number of pros in criticizing Valve's anti-cheat in CS2.

Swedish Major winner and CS:GO legend Adam "friberg" Friberg has a joined a growing list of big names in the Counter-Strike scene to criticize Valve for the state of their anti-cheat in Counter-Strike 2 matchmaking via a post released on X today. friberg claims that during his time with CS2 this week "every other game" had cheaters it, creating a frustrating experience that "makes you just want to quit the game."

After playing a lot of Premier MM @CounterStrike since the new update I've realized how big the cheating problem is. Every other game we played vs cheaters, and it makes you just want to quit the game.

I really hope Valve updates VAC, not a single VAC live the whole week.

friberg's comments echo those made by Slovak veteran player in Martin "STYKO" Styk in early March, with STYKO claiming the majority of Counter-Strike 2 Premier matches had cheaters.

Cheating has been an ongoing hot button topic in CS2 despite Valve's claims of implementing features like VAC Live" to deal with cheaters. friberg's post on X sees the Swedish pro cast doubt on the veracity of the "VAC Live" system as he claims to have not seen a single match canceled during his time with the game this week.

While not a full-blown crisis of confidence, it is unmistakable that dissatisfaction with cheaters on Valve's MM, FACEIT, and other matchmaking services has grown in recent months, with many calling out stakeholders across all levels to protest the state of the game amidst new developments in cheating like Direct Memory Access (DMA) cards that are seemingly able to circumvent detection or at least delay detection.
