Complexity one away from first playoffs of 2025 after humbling FURIA
Complexity have one foot in the PGL Bucharest 2025 playoffs after a convincing 2-1 victory over FURIA this Monday, April 7th. It looked like the Brazilians would stroll past Complexity as they had a dominant first half on Dust2, but Complexity reverse-swept FURIA with style and extended their win streak to 13-0.
FURIA nearly won Dust2 by a landslide as they absolutely dismantled Complexity's CT-side in the first half. Complexity toyed with the idea of the comeback, especially because Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes stopped defusing the bomb on the 19th round to mess around. But the Brazilians eventually won the game.
The rounds Complexity won in the second half of Dust2 gave them some much-needed confidence for Train, their map pick.
Michael "Grim" Wince and Johnny "JT" Theodosiou led the charges and Complexity humbled FURIA with a dominant 13-0 win, thanks to their outstanding 11-1 CT-side in the first half.
The series moved on to Inferno, the decider, and as usual, it was a problematic map for FURIA's troops. Complexity enjoyed a flying start on the CT-side (8-2) and went to the second half with a great 8-4 advantage.
Complexity secured the second pistol and the following round, which FURIA forced, and closed out the game with ease as the Brazilians didn't have a strong economy to play on the CT side. It was more a collective effort from Complexity this time around, but Danny "Cxzi" Strzelczyk finished the map with the most kills.
Complexity can qualify for the PGL Bucharest 2025 playoffs tomorrow, in case they win their match in the 2-0 pool of the Swiss system group stage. This would be an outstanding achievement for them, given they struggled in all other LANs this year.
