Virtus.pro put Liquid on the brink of elimination at PGL Bucharest 2025
Liquid lost to Virtus.pro by 2-0 in the 0-1 pool of the PGL Bucharest 2025 Swiss system group stage. This result means that Liquid must win three consecutive best-of-threes to advance to the playoffs.
Liquid fans were hoping for an uptick in form after Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek joined, but it seems that Liquid need more time to practice with their new captain as they lost all maps thus far.
The series kicked off on Mirage, Liquid's map pick, and they played reasonably well on it. They had two map points to close the game out while they were on the CT-side, but Virtus.pro forced overtime.
Once again, Liquid had a golden opportunity to win the map as they won two of the first rounds of OT, but instead, they crumbled to Virtus.pro's defense and the Russians ran away with a 16-14 victory.
Losing Mirage in that fashion arguably killed Liquid's mood as they didn't show up on Dust2 at all. Virtus.pro dismantled Liquid's defense in the first half (10-2) and were quick to guarantee the map as CTs.
While everybody on Virtus.pro finished with a positive K/D, nobody on Liquid stepped up and all of them finished with a negative K/D.
Liquid will play their first elimination match at PGL Bucharest 2025 tomorrow against another team that end in the 0-2 pool.
