YaLLa Compass Qatar 2025 moves to online play

The jam-packed schedule clearly affected the logistics for this event.

YaLLa has announced that the main event for YaLLa Compass Qatar 2025 will no longer be played on LAN. This decision comes after "unexpected scheduling constraints" will affect multiple teams who qualified or were invited to the event.

Each Major Regional Qualifier is set to overlap with YaLLa Compass Qatar. Astralis, BetBoom, Complexity, Nemiga, ENCE and 9 Pandas are all slated to compete in their respective MRQs - with every team residing in Europe aside from Complexity. This poses a problem for the North American side as the NA MRQ will be taking place on NA servers, while the YaLLa event will be on European servers.

Despite moving the event to online, COL will need to be in North America for the Major qualifier, meaning it is very probable that they will have to withdraw from the tournament.

For the teams that are still able to compete while participating in their respective MRQ, YaLLa has stated that "match timings are also being reviewed to minimize overlap with other tournaments, including the MRQ, in order to support player availability."

Surprisingly, this massive change has received the nod from Valve, who have reportedly given YaLLa an exception to take the event online while still remaining a Ranked event.
