NA IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier nears conclusion

NRG and BOSS received an invite to the closed qualifier of IEM Dallas from the Valve Regional Standings in the Americas. Party Astronauts and BOSS made their way to the CQ from the open qualifier.

However, the story diverts from there, as Party Astronauts completely blew up, with the coach and players taking sides in posts on X and throwing accusations at one another.

Therefore, the team could not continue and Nouns were granted a lifeline in the event; from coming 3rd-4th in the open qualifier and beating out Akimbo to the spot via their VRS ranking.

Nouns would duel with BOSS and lose 2-0 on Dust2 and Ancient, sending them to the lower bracket.

The same fate fell upon Marsborne, who were beaten 2-0 on Inferno and Dust2, to set up a do-or-die match with their fellow open qualifier participant.

Marsborne took their own map pick of Anubis convincingly before falling just short of a 2-0 sweep of their own on Dust2, losing 14-16. Nouns would carry their momentum into the final map of the best-of-three and take Nuke 13-10, eliminating Marsborne from IEM Dallas contention.

NRG handled BOSS in the upper final with a clean 2-0, setting up a BOSS v. Nouns rematch in the loser's bracket.

BOSS-Nouns will go ahead at 05:30PM, with the winner of that match facing NRG for the sole spot at IEM Dallas 2025.
