Nouns called up to replace Party Astronauts in Dallas Closed Qualifier

PA's demise has created an opportunity for Nouns to qualify for their first LAN of 2025.

ESL have confirmed that Nouns will be replacing Party Astronauts in the IEM Dallas 2025 NA Closed Qualifier following the latter team's shock demise yesterday. Nouns competed in the open qualifier for Dallas, being felled by Marsborne in a close 2-0 loss to miss out on the closed qualifier.

The unsalaried team were spotted fielding Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney as a stand-in during the open qualifier, with the player coming in to replace Gage "Infinite" Green after he stepped away from the team due to personal bereavement. It is expected he will play for the team tonight when they take on BOSS at 05:30PM.

The team list for the IEM Dallas 2025 NA Closed Qualifier is now:

United States NRG
United States BOSS

United States Marsborne
United States Nouns

The IEM Dallas 2025 NA Closed Qualifier is set to start today at 05:30PM.

It is worth noting that not everyone is happy with the decision as Kamron "kmrn" Manii of Akimbo protested the decision last night, feeling his team were due to take Party Astronauts' spot. Based on the Clause 3.3.1 in the ESL Pro Tour Counter-Strike General Rules Rulebook, when a team from the open qualifier drops out of the closed qualifier ESL are to choose the next highest-finishing team to replace them. As Nouns and Akimbo were tied in a 3rd-4th place finish, ESL used the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) as a tiebreaker, ultimately seeing Nouns called up to replace Party Astronauts.
