Breaking: Axed exits Party Astronauts citing "a severe lack of internal trust, communication, and respect"
Party Astronauts coach Tommy "Axed" Ryan has suddenly announced his departure from the orgless team today, leaving the squad after less than a month despite a successful start to the year for the team. Axed's post follows a cryptic post made by the coach last night that could be interpreted as trouble within the ranks of the iconic NA brand.
In his departure post on X, Axed levied some serious grievances against the team stating that there was a "a severe lack of internal trust, communication, and respect" in the team while alluding to "erratic and irrational roster decisions" supposedly made by the team recently.
Party Astronauts have not currently made any roster moves public, but Bogdan "ogwizard" Savula also put out a now-deleted post of the "absolute cinema" meme which could suggest disagreement with a coming change in PA's ranks.
The departure of Axed and a purported additional roster change comes despite a strong start to the year for Party Astronauts, with the team making the IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier, being one win away from making the Ace North American Masters Spring 2025, and currently boasting an 8-2 record in ESL Challenger League Season 49.
For the latter of these three events, a roster change would be quite problematic as the squad are out of roster moves in the league and would likely be unable to field a complete roster with Axed leaving the team.
Dust2.us reached out to Axed who declined further comment, while we did not hear back from the players ahead of publication.
Party Astronauts are for the moment:
-
Ben "ben1337" Smith
-
Justin "FaNg" Coakley
-
Bogdan "ogwizard" Savula
-
Wesley "viz" Harris
-
Colby "Walco" Walsh
Without their coach, Party Astronauts are set to face off against the winner of Chicken Coop vs. MIGHT in the Ace North American Masters Spring 2025 Closed Qualifier tonight at 07:00PM.
