Esport Canada announce Canadian qualifier signups for IESF World Championship 2025

A chance for any Canadian team to show their qualities.

Esport Canada, the volunteer-run national body for Canadian esports, has announced that the qualifier for the IESF World Championship 2025 is now open.

Like last year, Canadian teams can sign up for the national qualifier through Start.gg from now until April 4, with the qualifier itself taking place a day later.

In 2024, the Canadian qualifier was won by the Strife Esports roster, who actually were acquired by Homyno before the North American qualifier. Both Canada and the U.S. advanced to the World Championship but both finished last in their respective groups. Canada at least managed to win a best-of-one against Turkey while the U.S. went 0-5, in an event eventually won by Team Romania via the Nexus roster.

As for the Canadian CS2 women's roster competing at IESF World Championship 2025, Esports Canada told Dust2.us that the selection will be "conducted via application/nomination and evaluated by a selection committee in accordance with IESF regulations." The application for consideration for the Canadian CS2 women's roster is still up until March 21st.
