PGL Bucharest 2025 NA Qualifier concludes

Complexity survived the gauntlet to qualify for PGL Bucharest.

The PGL Bucharest closed qualifier in NA shifted from its massive four groups of eight teams into a single elimination bracket between each group winner.

Complexity, Wildcard, Nouns, and BLUEJAYS battled for the sole spot up for grabs from this qualifier into PGL's second event of 2025.

Wildcard faced off with Nouns in the first semi-final while Complexity and BLUEJAYS fought for the second berth in the final.

Wildcard v. Nouns

Wildcard and Nouns won their respective map picks in very convincing fashion, with Wildcard taking Nuke 13-3 behind Tim "susp" Ångström's 17-9 K/D ratio.

Nouns answered back with a 13-5 victory on Dust2, Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell went an absurd 22-9 to even up the series for Nouns.

Train would once again be a one-sided affair, Wildcard took the series 13-5 powered by Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek's 21-8 scoreline to end Nouns' hopes for PGL Bucharest qualification.

Complexity v. BLUEJAYS

Complexity and BLUEJAYS had a much more competitive series, generally speaking. BLUEJAYS picked Ancient and would just about win, by a scoreline of 13-10. Gavin "Fruitcupx" Norman went 29-15 with a 15-7 CT side in the second half to secure the map for his team.

BLUEJAYS came agonizingly close to stealing COL's pick and the series 2-0, losing on Anubis 13-11. After a 6-6 half, the game went back-and-forth until Complexity won the final two rounds to send the match to a third deciding map. Michael "Grim" Wince and Johnny "JT" Theodosiou led COL with 23 and 22 kills respectively.

BLUEJAYS lived to regret their missed opportunity in map two, Complexity won Nuke comfortably 13-6, where Grim continued his fine form from the previous map, going 21-10 to secure his side's spot in the final.

Complexity v. Wildcard

The best-of-five final was primed to be a knockdown, drag-out affair between Complexity and Wildcard, who had clawed their way through the event to reach this point. But it seems no one told that to Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli.

hallzerk made Train look like it was CSGO posting an immaculate 29-8 K/D in his side's 13-6 victory in their map pick.

Wildcard looked down and out in the second map, Nuke, falling behind 11-8. They did come back, evening the score at 12-12 and forcing overtime. Josh "JBa" Barutt logged 36 kills to 22 deaths, but it was not enough, as COL won in double overtime with hallzerk again registering a team-high 29 frags.

Complexity took the series on their second map pick, Ancient, with relative comfort. The American mix took the map 13-8, with Grim stepping up this time. The rifler showed his class, going 23-11 to secure COL's spot at PGL Bucharest 2025 in Romania.
