MIBR unveil new head coach
MIBR announced on Thursday, March 13th that Jhonatan "jnt" Silva is their new head coach. The 30-year-old most notably played for Sharks between January 2018 and May 2023, where he played alongside current MIBR players Raphael "exit" Lacerda and Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves, before coaching LOS and FURIA fe.
The roster change comes after MIBR struggled in BLAST Bounty Season 1 and IEM Katowice 2025, the two first tier-one tournaments they played this year. The subpar results at these events saw MIBR part ways with the former coach and CS: 1.6 legend Bruno "BIT" Lima and the IGL André "drop" Abreu ahead of ESL Pro League Season 21.
exit took over as IGL once again and MIBR brought Breno "brnz4n" Poletto back to the active lineup for EPL S21. They sort of turned things around at the Swedish LAN, having progressed from Stage 1. However, their Stage 2 campaign showed that there's much work to be done.
jnt already worked with the team during EPL S21, but he couldn't stay behind them during the matches because MIBR hired him after the tournament's roster lock.
According to MIBR, jnt arrives to help them "refine the details they need to adjust to achieve their goals". The new head coach emphasized the importance of reducing mistakes, something that MIBR and other top Brazilian teams have been committing in crucial rounds.
"I think the details make much more difference now, jnt said. "The details already made the difference in CS:GO, but in CS2, one detail that you miss or one reaction that you don't take, can cost you a half, which can cost you the match, which can cost you the tournament."
MIBR's first tournament under jnt's orders will be IEM Melbourne 2025, which kicks off on April 21st.
MIBR are now:
Raphael "exit" Lacerda
Felipe "insani" Yuji
Rafael "saffee" Costa
Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves
Breno "brnzan" Poletto
Jhonatan "jnt" Silva (Coach)
