ESL confirm IEM Katowice Stage 2 will run on the new patch

The Stage 1 is running on the old patch.

ESL has announced that the new CS2 patch will only be used during IEM Katowice Stage 2. The competition's first stage, which features Liquid, Complexity, and Wildcard, is running on an older version of CS2.

Additionally, the ESL Challenger League and the IEM Dallas qualifiers will be played on the new patch.

The new patch arrived on January 28th alongside the beginning of Premier Season Two. The most notable change is the price reduction of the M4A4 to $2900, the same price as the M4A1. This alone should be enough to bolster the popularity of the M4A4.

On top of that, the FAMAS got a price reduction to $1950 and an accuracy improvement. Meanwhile, Valve reduced the crouching accuracy of the SMGs MP9, MP5, and MP7.

Curiously, several players have bought the FAMAS throughout the first day of IEM Katowice Stage 1, despite the game running on the old patch.
