Chicken Coop swap one after roster shuffle kerfuffle
Following Chicken Coops' debut in ESL Challenger League Season 49, the team have undergone a number of changes ahead of the start of week 2 according to an announcement made today by the organization. The changes see Kaan "BAGEL" Demircan return to the starting lineup after briefly being benched last week, while Illya "supa" Filanchuk has been replaced by Jérémy "BiNoX" Chiasson on the lineup.
Dust2.us understands these changes come after a dispute over the future of the lineup, with the team reportedly initially planning to replace BAGEL and Taggert "taggy" Baker with Kevin "Magic" Simpson and Bryan "Marro" Valles Valenzuela, the latter of whom the team tried out in CCT NA Series 4. It appears that the team were largely on board with these changes, however with the recent January 18th update to the ESL Pro Tour rulebook, the team were out of ECL roster changes, meaning there was no room to add Magic and Marro.
With this plan falling apart, the team were essentially forced to bring BAGEL and taggy back into the fold. However, BAGEL allegedly refused to play with supa creating an impasse that ultimately resulted in the Ukrainian IGL stepping down from the team. With the team down a man and out of additions, they were required to turn to one of the substitutes they registered, BiNoX, to field a complete roster in ECL.
As a result, BiNoX has essentially taken supa's spot on the team and is set to play his first season of ESL Challenger League after spending last season down in Main with Masso Chiasson.
