What to expect from Liquid v. G2
It's a tough match for both Liquid and G2 heading into this afternoon, but it's Liquid that are looking better than ever. The Canadian-led squad looks to be in hot form after brutally dismantling Complexity and they pushed vitality to the absolute brink in their seeding match. As for G2, the squad continues to impress with their new Guatemalan star leading the way, but can they continue to perform?
Oh my god, they fixed the choking problem
It's almost somewhat surprising to look at a team you believe won't lose when they're up considerably. It's magical. Keith "NAF" Markovic and Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken continue to impress, while AWPer Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak looks like the signing of the summer. This squad is in the exact right form and with Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis figuring out his CT side, they should make quick work of G2.

Twistzz can have some issues calling, but so far so good?

NAF has been a bit of a liability on the T-side, but is due for a good game
A Guatemalan, a Pole, and a Russian walk into a bar...
G2 are good, sure, but how good are they exactly? They beat KOI, 3DMAX and MIBR to get to this spot in the playoffs which is fine, you can only beat the teams in front of you, but it's not like they have played a team of Liquid's caliber so far this event. However, they did absolutely rock it at IEM Cologne, the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024, and the Esports World Cup. So like, you can't say that this team is also bad.

G2 have had a while to prepare for this match

Is Snax truly better than HooXi or are we just distracted by nostalgia?
Previous Matchups
These teams are actually quite well known to one another. Liquid has not really had the advantage in recent times, but this was also before both squads collectively changed out four players. So, yeah. Who knows how this one will actually shake out.
Likely Vetoes
Let's see how the teams will be shaping up today. Both teams ban Vertigo, so maybe that leads to some shenanigans overall today.

Liquid ban Mirage
-
G2 ban Vertigo
-
Liquid pick Ancient
-
G2 pick Inferno
