BC.Game disqualified from CCT after joel anti-cheat ban
Rising Swedish star Joel "joel" Holmlund caused his team BC.Game to be disqualified from CCT Season 2 Europe Series 7 after the Akros Anti-Cheat banned the player.
The 19-year-old has faced significant controversy in his young career after being banned from the Esports Integrity Commission for seven months over suspicions relating to match-fixing.
joel allegedly placed bets on matches he was involved in on March 27th and March 28th, 2024. In at least one of the bets, he had placed it on the opposing team to win. He also placed approximately 17 bets on CS matches between March 29th and May 1st.
These bets violated multiple segments of the ESIC anti-corruption code. joel served his seven-month sentence, during which time it was determined that there was no compelling or conclusive evidence that joel was involved in match-fixing at the time.
Regardless of the player's conduct regarding gambling on matches, former teammate Alfred "RuStY" Karlsson has also previously accused him of cheating. In a now-deleted tweet back in September 2023, the former GODSENT player claimed that joel had been cheating.
