Spirit stop Complexity
After a successful lower bracket run with wins over OG and HEROIC, Complexity found themselves facing Spirit for a direct invite to the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 in the grand final of Group A of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.
It was a tight series but in the end it would be Spirit coming out on top after an incredible three map series. Complexity are not out of the Fall Final yet, as they have one more chance to qualify for the Fall Final before being relegated to the Fall Showdown.
The series would start on Dust2, picked by Spirit, but it would be Complexty taking the win after two overtimes. During the map, both teams showed solid offensive prowess, as they won their T-side 7-5 and the first OT had both taking two T-side rounds. The difference maker was Complexity's second OT CT-side, which didn't allow a single Spirit round win. A 19-16 win for the North Americans set them up for a potential 2-0 win on Anubis.
Spirit would answer back on map two, as the Russian squad took Complexity's pick and made it seem like their own. After an 8-4 CT-side, Spirit continued stacking rounds, eventually reaching a 12-4 lead. Complexity would manage to win two more rounds before losing their map pick 13-6.
Complexity got back at Spirit despite the tough Anubis loss. Even after starting the Nuke decider down 5-2, the American squad rallied back to take the 7-5 lead going into the T-side. The second half remained balanced with both teams going back and forth, until Spirit ran away with the score winning seven straight rounds to win the map 13-10 and the series.
With this loss, Complexity still have a shot at making the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 without falling to the Showdown, as they will face the loser of the NAVI v. Liquid series.
