Perseverance disqualified, PA end NRG's perfect season | ECL S48 Roundup Day 7
Week three of ESL Challenger League Season 48 began last night with Nouns, NRG, Party Astronauts, and BOSS all being some of the league's top teams to play matches on July 30th. However, while last night produced some quality NA CS action, the matches were almost an afterthought to a scandal that broke in the early morning that saw Perseverance disqualified from the league.
While Dust2.us' previous coverage can tell you far more than we'll get into here, the "CliffNotes" is that the team conspired to falsify a reason to reschedule their July 18th match against Mythic, with their attempt at deceit being quickly discovered leading to the team being kicked from the league while multiple players received two-month bans.
With the team being booted from the league one of the direct demotion spots has been taken by the scoundrels, which should benefit some of the teams currently sitting at the bottom of the league. With that all squared away, let's get into the actual league play last night.
M80 2-0 E-Xolos LAZER 
M80 have returned from Riyadh with a bang, starting their ECL S48 run off with a comprehensive win over the recently promoted E-Xolos LAZER squad. The lineup was in tip-top shape last night with Ethan "reck" Serrano in particular being in great form as M80 swept aside their Brazilian competition. M80 Ancient 13-6 before claiming an equally comprehensive 13-7 win on Inferno to claim their first win in what will likely be a dominant season.

PA 2-0 NRG
The next matchup for day seven saw PA claim a 2-0 win over Nick "nitr0" Canella's NRG to end their perfect season while also giving PA an important win. The first map in the series was a wash for NRG as PA claimed Inferno easily with a 13-5 scoreline. While Anubis required a 16-13 overtime effort from PA it was a great day for the orgless squad and likely showed NRG they still have some ways to before being considered a real challenger for the top of the league.

Nouns 2-0 BOSS
The final matchup of the night saw Nouns clinch a 2-0 win over BOSS to retain their spot at the top of the league. The first map, Ancient, was a quick 13-5 win for Nouns thanks to stellar performance from Jeorge "Jeroge" Endicott, while the second map, Nuke, was clinched by Nouns 13-11 after spending much of their T-side on the backfoot against their orgless opponents.
