Project Z Theta 9 win $10k All-In Esports Expo LAN in Oklahoma City

Didn't hurt that their strongest opposition got themselves thrown out of the tournament venue.

In a weekend that featured its fair share of drama from infamously familiar faces, a champion was crowned in Oklahoma City and Project Z Theta 9 was awarded $10,000. Project Z Theta 9 was comprised of ESEA Premier players Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue, Ben "ben1337" Smith, Dylan "SATURN" Finch, and Josiah "JoJo" Jimenez. The roster was rounded out by Bad News Bears coach Nathan "madcow" Retterath.

Much of the former timbermen roster brought the drama when they arrived in Oklahoma and were disruptive in their usual fashion, with rumors circulating online ranging from the believable: their normal racist and homophobic drivel, to the absurd but still somehow believable: attempting to place JoJo in a trash can. Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski famously drew attention to their abhorrent online behavior, though it's disheartening to hear that the group does not behave much better live on LAN.

Project Z Theta 9 absolutely dismantled any and all comers in this event, going 4-0 in the group stage, then sweeping both of their playoff matches 2-0 to win the tournament without dropping a map. Their dominant run included a 16-0 victory over Wildside in the group stage. Their grand final victory came over F1 RACECAR, whose lineup featured Nicolas "hate" Young, of now disbanded ESEA Premier side Secret Club.
