Elevate lose coach right before playoffs

Could we see him again?

Joshua "m1cks" Micks was the first coach to work with the Elevate core in their history, but the tenure was short lived. With outside factors playing a role, m1cks has elected to step down from the role and potentially step away from Counter-Strike all together.

"I don't have enough time at the moment, you may or may not see me again, who really knows" wrote the American coach on X.

m1cks has had a lengthy tenure in North American esports as a coach or analyst for organizations like Bravado, Rogue, Cloud9, Nordavind, and NRG. He parted ways with NRG following the PGL 2024 Copenhagen Americas RMR as part of an overall shuffle which saw Damian "daps" Steele take the reigns as head coach.

The change for Elevate comes right before they begin their ESL Challenger League playoffs. With the team seeded 5th in the rankings, they are now scheduled to play Mythic tonight at 09:00PM after the streaming squad beat out BOSS in the opening round.

Elevate are now:

  • United States Wyatt "snav" Phillippi

  • United States Derek "dare" Brown

  • United States Shane "shane" Dressler

  • United States Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell

  • Deni "dea" Ediev
