MIGHT demoted from ESL Challenger League after dismal season
MIGHT have been ignominiously relegated from ESL Challenger League S47 after finishing in the bottom of the standings with a dismal 5-23 record. While the squad were tied with Limitless at the bottom of the table with 15 points, they lost out on a chance to play Relegation thanks to losing to the team 2-0 back in Week 5.
MIGHT's failure to find success in ECL comes despite the squad featuring players who have previously found success in the division including Noah "Nifty" Francis, Jonathan "djay" Dallal, and Ryan "Snakes" Amann. Despite this, multiple players struggled to find their individual form which translated into an inability to find wins and have an impact in ECL's first full season in Counter-Strike 2.
This is the first time that Nifty has been relegated from the top domestic division since his return to competitive Counter-Strike in late 2022 after several years with Envy. The AWPer and IGL worked with MIGHT while they were in ESEA Advanced Season 47 and earned a promotion after finishing in fourth place.
With that finish, MIGHT earned a spot in ESL Challenger League Season 46 Relegation where the squad finished third and were able to qualify for the top domestic league after wins over Pantsu, LAG, and Rocket.
By finishing at the bottom of the league table, MIGHT have been automatically relegated to Advanced for the next season with no chance of playing it out in the relegation tournament. Limitless and One More will be entered into that tournament and have an opportunity to keep their spot in the league for next season. It is currently unknown if MIGHT intend of sticking together, however history tells us that directly demoted ECL teams rarely attempt to climb back up the ladder in ESEA Advanced.
