Liquid secure CCT Global Finals 2024 playoff berth after destroying AMKAL
After a tough opening win against OG, Liquid would have to face AMKAL in a qualification series. The Russians had previously beaten paiN to go up 1-0 in Group C, just like Liquid.
The series would be taking place on Inferno, Nuke, and Dust2 would be the decider, although it was not needed, as the Americans would quickly take care of AMKAL in just two maps.
Liquid kicked off the series with an almost flawless T-side, only losing two rounds, the pistol, and a full buy. At the half, AMKAL were looking at a 10-2 deficit, which the Russian side couldn't turn around, as Liquid would go on to win Inferno 13-2.
Nuke began with with AMKAL leading 3-0, but Liquid managed to bounce back and tied the half 6-6 before going onto the T-side. The second half was just as close, as both teams went blow for blow but Liquid, once again, came out on top 13-11.
With this win, Liquid have secured a CCT Global Finals 2024 playoff spot, joining the likes of Eternal Fire, Aurora, GamerLegion, and ENCE. The playoffs start on Tuesday, May 21st.
