Stewie2k: "Let's have some goddamn fun"
G2 has yet to officially confirm that Jake "Stewie2k" Yip will be standing in for IGL Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen, but the American has already taken to X to thank the organization for the opportunity.
"Thanks G2 for the chance to compete and to potentially play in front of a home crowd in IEM Dallas," the rifler said. "Grateful for this opportunity and to be able to play with the best rifler in the game NiKo & a young star awper! Appreciate all the love yall bringing. I’ll see you there Dallas! Let’s have some goddam fun."
This will be the first LAN for the 26-year-old since the 2022 PGL Antwerp Major Americas RMR, where Evil Geniuses finished 8th and just missed out on attending the Major and will certainly need to shake off some of the LAN cobwebs.
Stewie2k has kept himself busy in the last few years by streaming regularly, as well as subbing in for Mythic during the last season of ESL Challenger League Season 46.
More recently, the American was standing in for Brazilian squad Legacy as they made the move to America. He participated in their current season of ESEA Advanced and participated in the Esports World Cup 2024 North America Closed Qualifier where the team finished third behind M80 and Liquid.
Stewie is set to make his LAN debut against Falcons on May 27th.
