Partynauts dismantled by Aurora
While ESL Pro League Season 19 is being played in Malta, eight teams have traveled to Melbourne to play the ESL Challenger, with Party Astronauts representing the North American region.
The campaign didn't start off well for PA, as Aurora comfortably defeated them to send them to the lower bracket BO3 series.
The BO1 match against Aurora was played on Overpass, which was announced just last night as the map leaving the active duty pool for the foreseeable future, with Dust2 making a comeback. Before leaving the map pool of the ESL competitions, Overpass would be the venue of NA CS's demise, as Party Astronauts, despite only trailing 3-4 on the T-side to start the match, would finish the half with the same three-round wins.
Coming off a five-round winning streak, Aurora continued pouncing, winning the second half pistol round and the next three, claiming the 13-3 win over Party Astronauts.
After this loss, Party Astronauts will face sunday school, an Australian squad, in the lower-bracket to stay alive in Melbourne. The winner of the series will play Aurora in a BO3 decider series, where the winner advances to playoffs to meet Rebels.
Party Astronauts vs. sunday school is scheduled to begin at 11:00PM.
