Complexity get donk'd into IEM Katowice lower-bracket
After a convincing opening 2-0 win against Apeks, Complexity had the tough task of facing Spirit and the young prodigy of Danil "donk" Kryshkovets, who are yet to lose a BO3 series in 2024 with the rising star on the server. It was not today that donk's win streak would come to an end, as Spirit beat Complexity 2-0.
When donk was not as productive as usual, it would be Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov stepping up and pushing Spirit forward. From the Complexity side, Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski would be the highest-rated player.
The series started on Ancient, picked by the Russian squad. Despite opening the map with a 2-0 advantage, Complexity soon witnessed first-hand what it felt like to get donk'd, as the young player would lead his team to a 9-3 T-side half with 19 kills. The second half was a mere formality, as Complexity only managed to plant the bomb once but it was defused. The map ended 13-3.
Complexity's pick of Overpass had a better start, with the North American squad having an early 4-1 lead, but Spirit would come back to take and extend their lead to 7-5 at the half before COL went onto the CT-side. Once again, during the second half, Complexity was shut down as Spirit closed the map 13-5 and the series 2-0.
With this loss, Complexity will be falling to the lower-bracket where they will meet the winner of Rebels vs. Falcons. Complexity's next game is scheduled to be played tomorrow at 01:30PM.
