A couple of wins under their belt already

Liquid enter HLTV Top 30 with new squad

Back up the leaderboard.

It hasn't been the smoothest ride for Liquid, however the team has made their way back into HLTV's Top 30 for the first time as a new squad. The perennial American champions, if we ignore that weird European period, have restructured their entire team and even brought back fan favorite Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken.

After cruising through to qualification in the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR, Liquid stumbled in the qualifiers for IEM Chengdu and also struggled at their LAN debut at BLAST Premier 2024 Spring Groups.

It took the full distance, and multiple comebacks, for Liquid to battle through a donk-less Spirit, however their follow up match against GamerLegion was a much cleaner 2-0 victory. Liquid were tripped up at the end as they could not find their groove against FaZe and G2, sending them to the Spring Showdown held online in Europe later this season.

Regardless, the performances at BLAST and throughout January have allowed Liquid to jump into the Top 30 for the first time since revamping their entire squad. It is a far cry from their Top 10 placing at the beginning of 2023, but it's a step in the right direction.

For now, Liquid has no more matches until the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR in Monterrey, Mexico, starting in the beginning of March. The team is currently favored to head to the Major, but fans are not wrong to be concerned as the team is lacking in LAN experience heading into their most important event thus far.
