Renegades lose to Na'Vi in decider match
Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović and Noah “Nifty” Francis decided to go for one of the team’s better maps in Cobblestone for their pick in this best of three series, while Na’Vi chose to go with Train. While Renegades is historically good on Cobblestone, Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko is known for being a master of the map, and thus Na’Vi put up a huge 13-2 first half from the harder, CT, side. Justin “jks” Savage and Renegades attempted a comeback in the second half, but after rushing B enough times, Na’Vi eventually collected enough round wins to take the map.
The Aussies put up a solid 8-7 T half on the second map Train, powered by an in-form Aaron “AZR” Ward. This is a stark contrast from the last map where the game was dominated on the CT side as both Renegades and Na’Vi presented superb T sides. Nifty and co. couldn’t keep up on the second half, and eventually were overpowered by the Ukrainian team with an identical score from map 1: 16-11.
Natus Vincere will now advance to the quarterfinals where they play Ninjas in Pyjamas.
