Complexity explode BetBoom in route to semifinal
Complexity continues their impressive run in Sydney with another convincing 2-0, this time against BetBoom, who had been looking good during the group stage. After eliminating BetBoom, Complexity is the only non-partner and non-invited team still in the tournament.
With this win, the North Americans move onto the semifinals, netting them their best finish in tier one LAN events since 2016, when Rory "dephh" Jackson and the Canadian-majority team finished 3rd-4th in IGL 2016, in Shanghai.
The series started off in Complexity's Anubis, a map where the team has been finding a lot of success. An early 6-0 lead on the T-side for the North American team made things more comfortable, as BetBoom could not get going on the defense. The first half ended with a 9-3 score and with the MR12 format, Complexity only needed four more rounds. Winning the pistol made them a step closer, but BetBoom showed some life with three T-side rounds in a row. The Americans had enough and ended Anubis 13-6.
Ancient would be much closer, with BetBoom showing a solid T-side, getting a 7-3 lead early on, but Complexity managed to stop the bleeding and ended the half down 7-5. Despite losing the two first rounds, the second half was Complexity's show, with Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski shining a bit more than the rest, as the veteran rifler had 14 kills, ten of which were headshots. This propelled the team to a 13-11 win.
The series ended with Ricky "floppy" Kemery at the top of the scoreboard with 40 kills and an impressive 1.51 rating. Despite not enjoying CS2 as much as he did CS:GO, you still can't stop the flop.
In the semifinal, Complexity will face G2 again, the only team able to get a win over the North American team during the event. The match starts at 01:30AM, today.
