Revenge arc highlights final day of ESL Impact S4 NA #2 open qualifier
Although only four teams had registered early to play in the second open qualifier for ESL Impact Season 4 North America division, three more squads joined the competition, making it more competitive and interesting.
FLUFFY AIMERS White got a bye in the first round, but BeepBeep, Loot Goblins and Cherry Bombs had to conquer their spots in the semifinals against Starfish, Byte, and COVEN, respectively.
BeepBeep, with a stellar stand-in in Cecily "Chowdzz" Johnson, managed to completely dominate against Starfish, who only won five rounds across the two maps played during the series. The first was Overpass which ended with a 16-3 scoreline, and the second was Vertigo, which had a result of 16-2.
Loot Goblins also won 2-0, but their series against Byte was much closer. Both maps had both teams scoring ten or more rounds, as Ancient finished 16-13 and Anubis ended with a 16-10 score.
The final series of the day featured another 2-0 win, this time for Cherry Bombs, and it was a middle ground between a blowout and a close series. The first map, Inferno, saw Cherry Bombs coming back from an 8-7 deficit to a 16-8 win, and the second map, Ancient, had them go up 12-3 on the CT-side, and closing the series 16-5.
With these results, BeepBeep are facing FLUFFY AIMERS White today, in a tough series, as FA White are big favorites to take the spot in ESL Impact Season 4 NA division. The other semifinal is a rematch from last season as Loot Goblins, then called Factor Ruby, are facing Cherry Bombs. This series is expected to be close but anything can happen.
The games are scheduled to start at 06:00PM. You can watch the matches on ParksCasts' Twitch channel.
