Best Photos of the Playoffs
The BLAST.tv Paris Major has come to and end with the hometown heroes Vitality claiming the title as the last ever CS:GO Major Championship winners. During the playoffs we saw many emotional moments, and we've curated the best photos for you.
Day 1 (Heroic vs FaZe / ITB vs Vitality)
Unfortunately due to how the seeding came out, Heroic and FaZe Clan ended up playing each other as the opening match, meaning one of the two top teams wouldn't be making it further. That team happened to be FaZe Clan after a stomping from Heroic on Mirage 16-6 to take the series 2-1.
Next up were Vitality taking on Into The Breach from across the English Channel.
Although there were points during both maps where it looked like ITB might get an upset map over the French, neither came to fruition and Vitality took the series 2-0.
Day 2 (GamerLegion vs Monte / Liquid vs Apeks)
In a clash of underdog vs underdog, GamerLegion came out prepared and ready to take heads. Their opponent Monte didn't see it coming, with a quick 2-0 loss to the Europeans from the West.
In a depressing turn of events for Liquid, they would be re-matching Apeks in their opening quarterfinal.
Unfortunately, Liquid were unable to overcome their previous troubles versus Apeks and fell 0-2 to the European team, eliminating all hope of another NA win at the CS:GO Majors.
Since the start of the Major, Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski had been cycling all the way from Poland to France. Today was the day he finally reached Paris.
Day 3 (Heroic vs GamerLegion / Apeks vs Vitality)
GamerLegion were back to take more heads in the third day of the playoffs. Taking on Heroic, nobody (well, almost nobody) expected them to take another big head, but they did.
After almost taking GamerLegion into overtime on Inferno, Heroic fell flat on map three and lost 16-6 on Mirage, sending them home.
Before it was time for Apeks vs Vitality, the stage welcome a familiar face to the French scene, Kenny "kennyS" Schrub. A heartfelt speech from the legend ended with the announcement of his retirement.
Although Apeks put up a very valiant fight versus Vitality, with 16-14 and 16-12 losses, the Frenchmen (and Danes and Israeli) were not going to be denied their Major in the semifinals.
Day 4 (GamerLegion vs Vitality)
Would GamerLegion be able to take one more head and become the ultimate underdog champions or would Vitality "take home" their own Major? First, however, there was the showmatch.
Now finally, time for the grand final. Unfortunately for Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek, no more screaming celebration photos as the French-Danish mix send the underdogs packing. A quick 16-6 and a slightly longer 16-13 win saw Vitality take the win.
