Cloud9 were the ones to lift the trophy in Dallas, last year

IEM Dallas groups announced

Out of the four NA squads, three are in the same group.

ESL revealed today through IEM's Twitter what the groups for IEM Dallas would be. The first stage will have two groups of eight teams each, from which the three teams will advance to playoffs. The first in the group will go directly to the semifinals, whereas the second and third-placed teams will have to play the quarterfinals.

Group A is comprised of Heroic, G2, FURIA, fnatic, MOUZ, OG, Nouns, and 9z.
Group B has FaZe, Cloud9, Liquid, ENCE, Complexity, Astralis, Grayhound, and EG.

The group draw has joined five organizations with North American roots in Group B, while Nouns are the only North American squad in Group A , joined by FURIA, who also has NA connections.

fnatic and OG are going to Dallas due to Virtus.pro and an undisclosed team couldn't make it to Texas. Fortunately for the North American squads, this time visas are not a problem, except for Complexity and Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli. It's still unknown if the Norwegian AWPer will play.

IEM Dallas is set to start on the 29th of May on a day full of BO1 matches, and the grand final is scheduled for the 4th of June. The competition has a prize pool of $250,000 with the winner taking $100,000 and a spot in IEM Cologne 2023.
