What to expect from Complexity v. ECSTATIC
The pressure is finally on for Complexity, who have rarely been seen as a force to be reckoned with, but now come down to Australia as one of the absolute favorites to win ESL Challenger Melbourne. With only Bad News Eagles as a formidable opponent, it seems that now is the time for the squad to get a crucial win at a time where confidence is needed. With the BLAST.tv Paris Major coming up around the corner, now is a vital time for the Americans to ride high into the last major ever.
Complexity just have to keep calm
Complexity are the easy favorites for this game, but we have also seen them lose games that they should win. For Ricky "floppy" Kemery, now would be a great time for him to gain valuable confidence as a player that has seen to be struggling in the stats department lately. For others like Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli, they just need to continue their high performing ways and hope that jetlag hasn't hurt them on their way from Poland to Melbourne.
-
hallzerk had a 1.20 Rating and 1.14 Impact at the Americas RMR
-
JT showed up and fragged out, going positive and keeping up a 73.5 ADR at the RMR
-
Grim's opening kill on T-side at the RMR was abhorrent with only a 7.7% success rate
ECSTATIC to be here
ECSTATIC come into the event as an unknown quantity of sorts. The Danish squad qualified for the event after going through the entire open qualifier system, but haven't necessarily been lighting it up in the European circuit at the moment. The team is currently ranked #55 in the world, leaving much to be desired, but have also had some solid placings in online cups in their tier.
-
Maps don't match up well against Complexity
-
Experience on LAN isn't the same, will need to calm any jitters
-
ECSTATIC have no pressure, they need to play bravely
A Fresh Fight
The two sides have never matched up before and for Complexity, they will need to make sure to treat this game as seriously as possible. While it would be nice to think that this is an easy one for the North Americans, they are playing Danes. And we all know how good Danes are at Counter-Strike.
Likely Vetoes
Man oh man, this is going to be a battle. The veto process here will be interesting and as it's exactly unclear what the right vetoes will be, here is our best guess of how it will all go down.
-
ECSTATIC ban Mirage
-
Complexity ban Anubis
-
Complexity ban Vertigo
-
ECSTATIC ban Overpass
-
ECSTATIC ban Inferno
-
Complexity I believe will ban Nuke, leaving it to Ancient as the map.
Now, this could go completely wrong, so don't shoot the messenger, I just think this is how the map bans go for the first veto. What map do you think they play on?
