This may be the end of yur, but it's certainly not the end for CLASIA

CLASIA on EG removal: "I felt like I wasn't going to play again, I considered quitting"

They may have gone out 0-2, but CLASIA believes that everyone on yur has bright futures ahead of them.

yur might have been eliminated from the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR, but the team made a statement as a squad more unorthodox than any other. With players knowing that they would not be staying together after the event, having only decided to team up on a whim in the second open qualifier in North America, it was a literal do-or-die journey for them. Now, there is a lot to reflect on, especially for Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney who spoke with Ryan Friend after their elimination against Nouns.

Frustration was the buzzword surrounding the Americas RMR, with lengthy tech delays on day one causing the second round of fixtures to be postponed. Even with the postponement from day one, both Nouns and yur were left waiting for lengthy periods prior to and even during their clash for survival. For CLASIA, it was more relief than frustration after the game, despite being on the losing side.

I'm just tired. Obviously, I want it to be over and obviously, I would have preferred to win but I'm just happy the game is over after such long tech delays before the game and in between the last games so I'm just really happy for it to be over.

yur was easily the most shocking team to qualify for the Americas RMR, coming in as a mixed team and shockingly taking down Nouns to make it to Monterrey. While they were unable to replicate that victory against Nouns in Mexico, there were initial conversations about sticking together after the RMR. We know now that this is the final time we will see yur together, with CLASIA and Matthew "d4rty" Paplawskas signing with Strife, but the 19-year-old gave some insight as to why this roster wouldn't work.

We kind of realized that the dynamic of the team wasn't perfect. I'm not actually an In Game Leader and I had to In Game Lead some areas of some maps, not every map, but I feel like there were a lot of role clashes as well so it was better for us to go our separate ways.

For CLASIA himself, despite only bein 19 years old, he has had quite a whirlwind of a career so far. Playing on RGB/ Carpe Diem, the young roster made waves as one of the most promising teams the region had produced. Being picked up as part of the Blueprint project, the team became known as EG Black. For the Blueprint project as a whole, CLASIA was actually the first player to depart, being cut from the roster. CLASIA has looked at his experiences thus far, and how they have shaped him both as a player and a person.

Personally I feel like me getting cut from EG was better than staying on EG because it was kind of like a wake-up call. Vendetta was also a wake-up call when I left, we parted ways mutually but getting cut from EG was the main thing. After that I felt like I wasn't going to play again, I considered quitting then I got another opportunity, then another one. I am just capitalizing on all the mistakes I made before and I don't want to waste it at all. I don't want to fuck around, I want to just focus and grind because I know these players aren't so much better than me.
