New CS maps have VALORANT influence

Counter-Strike 2 might look a little like its other FPS rival, for good reason.

With Source2/Counter-Strike 2 officially announced, several community members have noticed that the maps appear to be significantly brighter, the colors pop more, and is in contrast to the harsher lighting in CS:GO.

This is due to one of the designers who was working on the maps, which is environmental artist Lydia Zanotti, who has worked on some of the best maps in Counter-Strike and VALORANT. The artist joined Valve in May 2021 after working at Riot Games for three years.

In VALORANT, Ms. Zanotti was involved in creating three of the first maps released; Split, Bind, and Ascent.

On Twitter, Zanotti said "It was always my dream to work on cs. I'm so proud of my whole team.", quote tweeting the video published on the Counter-Strike account announcing the new game.
