FURIA build Maltese training center
Just this December, FURIA announced the opening of a new esports center in Wynwood, Florida, which catered to more LAN centeresque events.
Now, it looks like the organization has decided to expand into Europe by announcing a new center in Malta that will cater to several of the organization's teams.
With the venue set to fully open in the summer, it will feature spaces that will fit all of the organization's teams. The headquarters for the location will be in Mellieha, a city in the north of Malta.
FURIA has been spending more and more time in the country, which has recently indicated that they wanted to improve relations between itself and Brazil. Just last year, Minister Ian Borg, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of Malta said:
Malta wants to further improve its bilateral relationship with Brazil. That's why we chose to open our first embassy in Latin America, in this country.
With the country being a hub of esports, now makes the perfect time to build upon a welcoming nation to both Brazilians and to the company's industry.
Jaime Padua, CEO of FURIA Esports commented: “I would like to express our gratitude to the Government of Malta for their assistance in facilitating our investment in this beautiful country. Their commitment to creating a friendly environment and ensuring our organization has everything it needs to succeed led us to the easy decision to establish a facility here. Therefore, FURIA is now becoming an active part of the esports ecosystem in Malta”
