Don't worry your skins are safe in Counter-Strike 2
With the news of Counter-Strike 2's possible release lingering in everyone's minds following Richard Lewis's report, many pundits and fans alike wondered out loud how the release of a new game would affect Valve's extremely lucrative skins market. With cases and skins pulling in billions of dollars for the publisher, many worried the release of Counter-Strike 2 could kill the "golden goose" that has helped the game grow as massive as it has.
Fortunately, Valve has that covered as players' inventory will be seamlessly transitioned from CS:GO to CS2, meaning all of your iBUYPOWER Holos, Dragon Lores, Howls, and even your Sand Dunes will make come with you into Source 2. Even better, Valve has announced that along with the general upgrade to Source 2, weapon models will be updated and with it, skins will benefit from Source 2 lighting and materials, making your prized skins look even better.
