Riot Squad and Peeker's Advantage to feature altered lineups in first MSI MGA qualifier
With the bulk of MDL Season 31 having concluded over a month ago, there has been a lull in playing and transfer activity for teams participating in the league. With the first qualifier for MSI MGA kicking off today, however, the quiet spell will come to an end.
Among the teams signed up for the event are Envy, New Identity, Lazarus, Rugratz, and LiViD. Complexity are also present on the list, though Dust2.us have been informed they will not actually be participating.
The more interesting teams set to play the event, however, are Riot Squad and Peeker's Advantage, and both will be utilizing different rosters than they were last seen with.
In the case of Riot Squad, this comes as no surprise, as the team underwent a spate of roster changes within the weeks following signing with the organization. The new faces for the team include none other than Pujan "FNS" Mehta, who was recently in the news due to Lazarus pulling out of the StarLadder Major Berlin Americas Minor, and Jonathan "Jonji" Carey, who last played for New Identity.
As such, Riot Squad will field the following roster later today:
- Peter "ptr" Gurney
- Austin "crashies" Roberts
- Mitch "mitch" Semago
- Pujan "FNS" Mehta
- Jonathan "Jonji" Carey
Interestingly, Jeff "RZU" Ngo has left the team's ESEA roster, with Dust2.us being told that the organization have worked out a deal with Josh "shinobi" Abastado to retain their MDL spot.
As for Peeker's Advantage, nowhere to be seen are David "DAVEY" Stafford and Anthony "gMd" Guimond, with their spots instead being filled by Stephen "reltuC" Cutler and Josh "Wade" Wade. While Dust2.us have been told that gMd had a prior commitment, DAVEY's status with the team is seemingly up in the air.
Peeker's Advantage are currently signed up for the qualifier with the following roster:
- Chad "Oderus" Miller
- Taylor "Drone" Johnson
- Daniel "roca" Gustaferri
- Stephen "reltuC" Cutler
- Josh "Wade" Wade
- Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg (Coach)
There is still time to register for the first MSI MGA qualifier, as well as the two that will follow. As always, you can find information on upcoming events and qualifiers on the Dust2.us Calendar.
