shinobi and RZU set to play in Riot Squad MDL spot
After being kicked from Riot Squad on Wednesday, Josh "shinobi" Abastado has teamed up with perennial backup teammate Jeff "RZU" Ngo to play in the MDL spot of his former team.
The series of events leading to Riot Squad losing their MDL spot started on Tuesday when Riot Squad were handed a crushing defeat by Lazarus in the WINNERS League quarterfinals. Following that loss, the team removed shinobi, using Dave "seziwana" Schrage in his place during their IEM Chicago Closed Qualifier run.
However, due to shinboi being the team's leader on ESEA as long as he and RZU play 8 of the first 9 matches of Season 32, they are free to rebuild the roster without any of the other Riot Squad players.
As a result, Josh's Money Crew have the following roster:
- Josh "shinobi" Abastado
- Jeff "RZU" Ngo
This is the latest in a long line of problems for Riot Squad as they also lost Michael "dapr" Gulino yesterday, as he left the team to replace Jonathan "Jonji" Carey on New Identity. Dust2.us knows that Riot Squad are currently trying out Jonji and Variance player Erick "Xeppaa" Bach as potential replacements for shinobi and dapr, though the lack of a league spot may stifle their rebuilding efforts.
