Take Flyte win Fragadelphia 17: Philadelphia over LGG
Fragadelphia 17: Philadelphia has come to a close, with Take Flyte besting LGG to win the event. Take Flyte had a particularly strong run in the playoffs of this event, only dropping one map en route to victory. With this win, Take Flyte have pocketed the grand prize of $3,500, 8,000 Fragadelphia Points, as well as a direct invitation to Fragadelphia 17.
Take Flyte kicked off their playoff run against Junjie "Gank88" Lin's All Gas No Brakes, with Damian "droid" Boulware's men coming out of the gates flying on their opponent's pick of Dust2, posting a dominant 13-2 half on the defense. All Gas No Brakes attempted a retort, but there was little they could do as Take Flyte shut them out of their pick 16-7. Take Flyte's pick of Mirage was a far less one-sided affair, but Take Flyte still came out on top, albeit this time with a more labored scoreline of 16-12, securing them a 2-0 victory in the quarterfinals.
Take Flyte were similarly dominant in their semifinal match against Villanous Union, a squad made up of the core trio of the ex-UYU squad. Take Flyte posted a dominant 11-4 half on the offense of their pick of Inferno, and they continued these efforts on the defense to quickly lock down their pick 16-7. Villainous Union's pick of Mirage went similarly, with Take Flyte soaring ahead with a 12-3 lead on the defense before finishing off the map with a 16-6 scoreline to book a ticket to the grand finals.
Take Flyte's grand final matchup against LGG, a squad featuring the core of timbermen who recently qualified for ECL, provided the most difficulty for them in the playoffs. Things started out well for Take Flyte on their opponent's pick of Overpass, with a firm defense securing an 11-4 half for the squad. LGG could do little to surmount a comeback against this lead, as Take Flyte stole away Overpass with a 16-7 score.
Ancient was a far different story, as LGG absolutely dominated their opponent's pick. Thank's to a blistering 2.15 rating from Wyatt "snav" Phillippi, Take Flyte were limited to only a single round on the offense, as LGG posted an astounding 14-1 lead at the half. It was not long before LGG closed out the map 16-1 to tie up the series, bringing it to the decider map of Mirage.
Take Flyte looked like they would be posting a dominant first half to start their T-side on Mirage, securing seven of the first eight rounds to kick things off. LGG were unphased by their opponent's lead however, as snav and company rallied six rounds of their own to tie things up, before Take Flyte snatched the last round of the half to eek an 8-7 lead. A pistol round win for LGG allowed the squad to tie things up and then shortly afterward claim the lead, but Take Flyte's economy stabilized LGG was completely shut out of the second half. Take Flyte marched on with eight rounds straight to close out the map 16-9, securing their win at Fragadelphia 17: Philadelphia.
