Noot returns to ECL and coaching
Brazen have made a change to their coaching staff, seeing Christian "N1ght" Kilian step down into an analyst role while Nick "Noot" Samodurov has taken over as head coach. The move follows the team's breakout performance in ESL Challenger League Season 41, where Austin "mesamiduck" Dardar led the squad to playoffs in his first season of ECL.
N1ght had joined Brazen at the end of May, marking his return to competitive CS:GO after last coaching Sixth Gear during ESEA MDL Season 35. This move also marks Noot's return to coaching after he spent Season 41 playing in ESEA Open with Eros Academy.
As previously mentioned, Brazen managed to clinch a spot in ECL S41 playoffs after posting a 4-3 record in the regular season. Despite mesamiduck's squad failing to have a deep run in playoffs, the act of qualifying was notable as it was the young IGL's first season of ECL which came after only one season of ESEA Advanced.
To expand on this successful debut in ECL, mesamiduck told Dust2.us that Brazen decided to bring Noot in to flesh out the squad's tactical approach and to have an extra set of eyes during practice. Additionally, keeping N1ght as the head coach was ultimately untenable due to him starting another job, limiting the amount of time he is able to spend with the team.
Brazen's lineup is now:
-
Jeff "RZU" Ngo
-
Brennan "grape" Greer
-
Keanu "Danejoris" Reyes
-
Matthew "D4rtyMontana" Paplawskas
-
Austin "mesamiduck" Dardar
-
Nick "Noot" Samodurov (Coach)
-
Christian "N1ght" Kilian (Analyst)
With the player break in full swing for the NA semi-pro scene, Brazen await the start of Season 42 in mid-August.
