Dire Round 2 Legends Stage matchups for Americas
Following the conclusion of the first round of BO1s at the Antwerp Major, the next round matches have been determined. Using the team's initial seeds, as the Buchholz rating only works from round 3 onwards, Americas teams have some unfortunate matches.
After Liquid's heroic attempt to overcome Heroic on Vertigo early this morning, the team will now need to overcome a foe from the Americas RMR, FURIA. The Brazilian side, despite coming in seeded as a high team, lost to Spirit on Nuke after only Yuri "yuurih" Santos was able to post a positive K/D ratio.
The other Brazilian team, Imperial, who also lost their opening match against BIG, will be facing an even harder battle. The team will be playing versus G2, a heavy favorite to advance to the playoffs. G2 are only in the lower matches for round 2 after being drawn against NAVI in their opening match, a game they only lost in overtime 17-19.
Although not hosting an American roster, North American organization Cloud9 won their first round match versus Outsiders on Mirage 16-12 with their players showing up well against the other CIS team affected by the invasion of Ukraine. Their higher round 2 match will be versus NIP who overcame Vitality in a surprise upset to some.
