Envy look to s0m, ANDROID, and FugLy for DreamHack Masters Dallas qualifier
Envy have signed up for the DreamHack Masters Dallas open qualifier with a notably different roster than before, with just Josh "jdm64" Marzano and Noah "Nifty" Francis returning to the lineup.
Taking the place of Stephen "reltuC" Cutler and Taylor "Drone" Johnson are two players who are benched from their previous teams, with Jacob "FugLy" Medina making his way from NRG while Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor joins up from compLexity. The fifth spot on the roster, left vacant following the departure of Finn "karrigan" Andersen, is filled by 16-year-old compLexity streamer Sam "s0m" Oh, leaving the lineup with just two members of their previous roster.
During karrigan's tenure with the team, Envy were unable to qualify for the IEM Katowice Major, falling to FURIA and NRG in the Americas Minor before losing to Winstrike and North in the third place Minor Play-in. Their attempt to qualify for IEM Sydney also saw the team come up short, managing two maps over Party Astronauts before falling to Swole Patrol and Ghost to be eliminated from the running.
As mentioned, both FugLy and ANDROID are currently under contract with organizations, and would need to be bought out in order to join Envy. Additionally, the status of Drone and reltuC remains unknown, although the organization should reveal their fate in the near future as the roster deadline for ESL Pro League Season 9 is just around the corner, locking in on March 22nd.
Envy's roster for the DreamHack Masters Dallas open qualifier looks as follows:
- Noah "Nifty" Francis
- Josh "jdm64" Marzano
- Jacob "FugLy" Medina
- Sam "s0m" Oh
- Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor
- Zachary "Eley" Stauffer (Coach)
Envy are set to compete with the above roster tomorrow, March 20th, when the DreamHack Masters Dallas open qualifier begins at 6 PM EDT. Should the lineup remain the same going forward, they are also set to compete at the LAN debut of ESL Pro League Season 9.
