Mythic Cup announced; Singularity, iNTACT, Mythic headline invites
Mythic have announced that they will be hosting an eight-team tournament, entitled Mythic Cup #1, on March 31st with $1,500 on offer — much like our very own Dust2.us Masters events. Seven teams have received direct invites to the main event, with one final team making their way to the tournament through an open qualifier.
The prize distribution for the first Mythic Cup will award the top two teams with all of the money, seeing the champion taking home $1,000 and the runner-up winning $500. MDL teams make up all of the seven invites, with the stream team of Mythic set to play in their own Cup alongside the likes of Singularity, iNTACT, Party Astronauts, and Final Feature.
The eight-team tournament will be streamed on the Mythic League Twitch channel, with the entire tournament playing out on March 31st starting at 5 PM EDT. The open qualifier for the single remaining spot on the team list is set to take place over two days, commencing on March 29th at 7 PM EDT and concluding the next day.
Dust2.us has learned that the initial matchups for the tournament will be best-of-one single elimination, with the semifinals and grand final both playing out as best-of-threes. The open qualifier will see best-of-ones played until just four teams remain, at which point best-of-three matches will take over until a champion is determined.
The team list for the first Mythic Cup currently looks as follows:
Final Feature | Infamous |
iNTACT | Mythic |
Party Astronauts | Singularity |
The Fundamentals | Open Qualifier |
Signups for the open qualifier will remain open on the event's FACEIT page until 6 PM EDT on March 29th. Interested parties may signup individually or as a team, with a number of ESEA Advanced rosters already joining the list of participating teams.
