neptune phases into Ghost's ESEA roster
Ghost have seemingly finalized their replacement for Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend with the return of Jason "neptune" Tran, who only just became re-eligible to play in ESL's Pro League and ESEA's MDL over a week ago after turning 16 for the second time. The player joined the team's ESEA roster late Monday night, and was listed as a part of their starting lineup shortly after. The WESA transfer window is set to close on September 27th, leaving little time for other EPL teams to finalize their own rosters.
Ghost have been in search of a fifth player for over two weeks, and as previously reported by Dust2.us, have been trialing neptune in their scrims as he has now surpassed the minimum age limit of 16 for playing in the upper echelons of the ESEA leagues.
During kRYSTAL's time with Ghost, Joshua "steel" Nissan and co. reached the semifinals of ZOTAC Cup Masters after taking down OpTic 2-1 in the quarterfinals. Mere days later, they were eliminated in the group stage of DreamHack Masters Stockholm, but managed to post an overtime best-of-one victory over Na`Vi before getting reverse-swept 1-2 in both a rematch against the CIS side and a series against NiP.
Ghost's roster now consists of:
- Matthew "Wardell" Bowman
- Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik
- Joshua "steel" Nissan
- Kenneth "koosta" Suen
- Jason "neptune" Tran
- James "JamezIRL" Macaulay (Coach)
While neptune was ineligible to play in EPL and MDL, he kept busy by attending a number of American LANs, including Chicago CS:GO Open, Fragadelphia 12, and the Cougar CS:GO Open. He also was a part of the Season 27 Main squad FeelsUnderAgeMan alongside Ryan "Snakes" Amann and Owen "oBo" Schlatter that went on to become Really Old People in MDL Season 28.
Ghost are set to compete in EPL Season 8, which begins on October 2nd. Their first matchup won't be pulling any punches as steel's side are set to go up against MIBR in a double header, with the first match kicking off at 10:40 PM EDT.
