BlackOut release kaboose, secure services of MAKKA & Oderus
As the end of season 27 draws near, MDL teams look to solidify their roster for both the playoffs and for next season. A tweet from BlackOut late Sunday evening confirms that they have now signed Chad "Oderus" Miller and Bryan "MAKKA" Drouillard. With their roster solidified, the team will now look to win their remaining two MDL matches to secure themselves a slot in the playoffs.
Alongside their new additions, BlackOut also announced that they would be parting ways with Jake "kaboose" McDonald, a player who has been sitting on the sidelines since being benched in the last week of February.
This marks the end of a series of changes for BlackOut, which saw them both remove and re-add Tyson "TenZ" Ngo to their active roster. After initially benching TenZ to bring in David "dee" Ngo as a stand-in, BlackOut quickly reassessed their change.
Alongside the re-addition of TenZ came Adam "juice" Sar, who joined the roster in place of kaboose. While a reason was not given at the time, it's interesting to note that dee was brought onto the roster due to kaboose's prior experience with him.
Shortly after Say No More parted ways, Oderus made his way onto the roster to replace juice. This marked the second last change for the team as they looked to finalize their roster for the season.
Finally, a mere two days after the addition of Oderus, MAKKA was also picked up on trial. The team quickly found cohesion as they took down Não Tem Como and Mask Off, leading to today where both players found themselves a permanent slot on BlackOut's roster.
BlackOut's full roster is now:
- Giovanni "Fighter" Leo
- Daniel "impsta" Whaley
- Alex "aproto" Protopapas
- Chad "Oderus" Miller
- Bryan "MAKKA" Drouillard
- Tyson "TenZ" Ngo (Inactive)
BlackOut currently sit at 7th place in the MDL standings, boasting a 9-5 record. With two matches remaining in the season, the team will have to take down Freedom 35 and h00liGaNz if they wish to ensure themselves a playoffs slot.
